The engineering services were designed to meet the terminal operator's need to enhance the existing quay so as to allow the simultaneous docking of large ships and modernizing the yard with new generation automated cranes. The project includes:

  • Dredging of the seabed up to -16.50 m MSL;
  • Enlargement of 1,000 m of the quay, made on piles of diameter 1,800 mm approximately; new rail beam on yard side to allow the installation and shifting of QC 24 
  • Installation of Automated Stacking Cranes on the yard and adjustment of the electrical and lighting networks in the new areas.

Procurement: Preparation of tender documentation according to:

  • Conditions of Contract for Construction for Building and Engineering Works designed by the Employer, First Edition 1999 (FIDIC Red Book);
  • Conditions of Contract for Design-Build and Turnkey, First Edition 1995 (FIDIC Orange Book).

Topographic Survey: topographical survey and underground detection carried out as follows:

  • Detailed topographic survey of the site
  • Identification and survey of existing utilities and services;
  • Production of survey report and drawings.
