The Project will create a digital infrastructure for the use of Ultra Broadband Internet Services in all areas of Italy in order to bridge what is known as the digital divide. The project, which is being carried out under a concession from Infratel, a company owned by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), aims to provide fibre-optic connections using Fibre to the Home (FTTH) technology to property units in Italian Municipalities registered as white areas, or market failure zones, where there is no investment from private developers.
This monumental project envisages the construction of a fibre optic network of approximately 90,000 km (more than twice the circumference of the Earth), the release of more than 100,000 authorisations in almost 7,000 Municipalities in order to reach a total of roughly 7 million Real Estate Units (homes, offices, businesses, and Public Administration buildings).
Our 20 years of experience in the sector means we offer a full range of professional services, including engineering design, permit management, construction management, safety coordination and project management.
We carry out inspections of real estate units not covered by a connection, making a preliminary assessment to determine the most feasible implementation of a new network.
We plan and design both the civil engineering programme (excavations, piling, etc.) and the optical infrastructure component (cables, cabinets, etc.) of the new network using state-of-the-art GIS applications.
Our in-depth knowledge of the territories and local Authorities with which we have worked for decades means we can meet the challenging objectives of securing permits and authorisations in the shortest time possible.
In addition, we capitalise on our widespread presence and the multi-disciplinary expertise of our technicians, who have many years of experience and serve several Clients simultaneously. These professionals take on key roles in worksite operations, such as construction managers, safety coordinators and acceptance test specialists. We use in-house developed computer applications for fast and automated task management to deliver our services with agile and efficient performance.
