The building dedicated to Proton therapy has been built to house the premises dedicated to innovative health care and proton radiotherapy activities. The new structure is located within an existing hospital complex. An underground tunnel connects it to the current radiotherapy department to provide patient transfer and optimise services.

This project was born from the European Institute of Oncology's requirement to establish new spaces for treatment with this new and minimally invasive technique. In addition to the expansion of the outpatient areas, the project included the construction of several new facilities:

  • 1 bunker for Proton Therapy;
  • dedicated technical support and maintenance rooms;
  • clinical and nursing rooms;
  • general and specialist installation engineering;
  • the expansion of the radiotherapy department.
