The Renewable Energy Community of Gemona del Friuli

Client: the Parish of Ospedaletto di Gemona

Services in this project:
  • Preliminary design
  • Feasibility studies

The Parish of Ospedaletto di Gemona del Friuli commissioned a feasibility study and preliminary design to establish a Renewable Energy Community (REC).

A photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the kindergarten is going to generate renewable energy, which will be used for the utilities of the Parish and also shared with the local business activities in the area.

Through an innovative REC management model, all of the incentives generated by the shared energy plan will be channelled to support the kindergarten.

The exchange of energy between the producer and consumers is going to be managed through PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) under mutually agreed economic conditions within the framework of the REC, allowing the supply of electricity to participating members at a fixed and cost-effective price, which is also a tool to mitigate energy poverty.

The REC will be launched after the publication of the Italian Incentives Decree.
