The project involved renovating an existing building in the historic centre of Siena.

The structure is volumetrically articulated around a monumental staircase and is distributed over four floors above ground.

The vaulted and frescoed rooms that open onto Via dei Rossi at street level serve as the common areas of the hotel, while the halls on the upper floors have been converted into spacious suites.

Given the prestigious location and the monumental value of the building, the focus was on the construction of a limited number of rooms that, thanks to a careful study of volumes and particular attention to architectural detail, go far beyond the simple definition of a "hotel".

Working together with the Client, the solutions applied to each suite were developed to offer guests an intimate and direct experience with Siena, overcoming the rigidity and formality typical of the hotel system.

The focus of the project was, therefore, to create a design concept that would allow people to enjoy all the benefits and support of a hotel while feeling as if they were staying in a private apartment rather than a standard room.
