THE PORT OF CIVITAVECCHIA TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE ELECTRIFICATION

DBA PRO S.p.A. and the temporary consortium of RINA, Galileo Engineering, and C.&G. Engineering Service are launching the technical and economic feasibility analysis for the electrification of the docks at the Port of Civitavecchia. The electrification of ships, particularly larger units, is known to reduce and eliminate environmental impacts related to emissions and noise. The design of an extensive Cold Ironing system requires the creation of a high-power electrical network, which will increase efficiency and safety at the port and improve the overall electrical supply service for ships.
