DBA AT LETEXPO 2023 WITH THE VBS SOFTWARE SOLUTION

DBA PRO. presented the results of the FENIX (FEderated Network of Information eXchange in LogistiX) project (fenix-network.eu) at LetEXPO 2023, the trade fair dedicated to sustainable logistics, transport and services in Verona, Italy. FENIX is an EU-funded project CEF 2019 – 2022 focused on the development of a federated system for the exchange of relevant information and data between information systems supporting logistics along TEN-T corridors.
Within the framework of the Trieste pilot system, DBA PRO. realised a system for the management of terminal access reservations for the pick-up/delivery of load units called Vehicle Booking System (VBS) with the aim of reducing queues in access to the port terminals, optimising trips and estimating CO2 emissions in relation to road traffic.

The Vehicle Booking System (VBS) is a web-based software application capable of optimised management of truck entry bookings at terminals. It can monitor the drop-off (export) and pick-up (import) activities of loading units featuring containerised goods, swap bodies, rolling stock and miscellaneous goods.
